Hike #2 - done!

After we did Silver Lake the week prior, we decided that "going a little harder and rougher" would be okay.  The kids did great and we knew they could do it!
So we went up the same way and continued onto Solitude Lake - they were rock stars!
Austin, Jax, Rio, Reese, Avery and Lucas behind - ready to start our hike :)
This one was a lot steeper and more narrow but they handled it so well.

We saw these beautiful black and white butterflies everywhere!
(not the best picture, I know)

Wasn't it gorgeous?  Loved all the wild flowers!
Time to stop for lunch!  It was a perfect place with little logs to sit on

Mr Photogenic himself, Austin
We made it!  See the lake behind us?  It was so still and calm and we loved it!  It was a beautiful day and the kids were so much fun!  Even little Logan was a blast!  He was so cute in my pack - he thought he was so cool being up so high and seeing everything.  He had a great time too - so fun!

On the way down, Rio insisted that she carry my extra backpack with the water bottles and food in.  She is such a great helper!  I was so proud of her - she is one tough cookie!
She carried it for so long and then on this steep downward hill, she asked very sweetly, "mommy, can you hold it for me now?"  Go girls!  Roxy with Avery, Reese and Rio
Can you find the boys?
Lucas, Jax and Austin behind that right tree :)
Heaven on earth - places like this!  Love being outside and I'm so grateful for the many beauties that surround us; we're very lucky!
