In the beginning...

Well, our journey begins with our trip in May to CA to do our IVF cycle with ICSI assistance. Our fertility doctor is Dr. Richard Marrs. He is located in CA and we loved him! He is a great man and fabulous doctor; maybe a little too good :) He is nationally recognized as one of the best and most successful fertility doctors in the country. We found him through Dr. David Richards in AF, Utah who is his partner and also a very incredible man.

Anyway, we were in CA for about 10 days doing labs and the egg retrieval. The egg retrieval was on a Thursday and then the eggs got to sit in a little petri dish and cell divide for about 3 days until they were divided enough to be ready for the transfer. So on May 24th, we did our embryo transfer and Dr. Marrs (and the lab doctor as well who had been babysitting our embryos for us) felt that transferring 3 of the embryos would give us the best chance for one to work. The percentages were 65% for one to work, 25% for two to work and a 2% chance for all three. Well, we know what odds we have had in the past so we felt really good about doing all three as well.

Personal blogging definitely isn't a specialty area of mine at all but I have two work related blogs so I'm hoping it will be somewhat similar.

Spence and I, since finding out the news about our triplet pregnancy, have been searching and searching for other info and support of people who've had similar experiences and can give us an idea what we are up against. We haven't found a ton of info though or the blogs we found only lasted a few months.

So... we figured since we've had so many people want updates on how things are going for us, that we would settle in and do a blog ourselves. Hopefully this will answer any questions or concerns our loving family and friends have and will provide support for others going through the same kind of thing.
