We FINALLY saw Frozen & Valentines Day 2014

I know these are lame pictures but I had to capture something right?

The kids were dying to see this movie and their sweet Aunt Kristin thought to get them movie passes for their bdays to see this so we finally ventured out and saw it!  It is so adorable as everyone who has seen it knows :)

We've all been singing, "Do you want to build a snowman?" and "Let it Go" every single day multiple times a day ever since

We were all so glad that Spence could come with us. He is ready to watch some "Frozen"!

Valentines Day 2014

 A few days before Valentines, we went to our friend Angie's and made a cute little craft and had some yummy cookies with our bestie friends

This was mommy and daddy's little Valentine to our cuties - we had them out before they woke up and they were so excited to come down to the table and see this fun Valentine surprise!

When we moved, we were feeling very sad to leave our fabulous neighbors and neighborhood but we have honestly loved our new little place and the people we've met here are so great and kind to us and our family.
We were "Heart Attacked" on Valentines Day by someone and felt very loved!  Thank you mystery neighbor - you made our day!

The kids made this sign for the past Primary teachers that miss so much and I loved it so much I had to post it!  They are so sweet and we all had a great Valentines Day.  We all stayed in this year and made yummy Bruschetta with dip, chocolate dipped strawberries and lots more.  We had a great time celebrating Vday together as a family!

Love all my little Valentines to pieces, especially the biggest one!  Love you Spencer - you've given us all a great life together!

I'm not sure how this happened honestly since our little baby "came out of nowhere" and it is a complete miracle that I'm pregnant on our own and I know my two SIL's didn't talk about "getting pregnant" or when they were planning on it so this is just so fun and we are so lucky to all be pregnant and be due within 2 weeks of each other.

"What does the Fox say?"

Yes, that's right!  We are letting our little ones watch a You Tube video of Dance 4 and they love it!  It is seriously one of their favorite activities to do!  And of course Spence brings in the funny more current and trendy music so they know this song all too well :)

(PS Rio can't dance to this very often she says because it is only a boy dancing and there isn't a girl but she is so fun doing this as well - I'll have to post her dancing soon)

Preschool Fun

This year the triplets have had a blast at their preschool and they absolutely love going.  They have an incredible teacher and always do the funnest things.

One of their projects that was so fun was for their birthday.

They didn't end up doing it until January after their birthday but they had so much fun doing it.

It was an "All About ME" poster

 I took pictures of them because who knows if they will be kept nice and for how long.

I love how she drew her family with arms and legs and hair and that she was so proud of herself for being able to write her own name :)

 Austin is really good with his fine motor skills - he was the first to be able to write his name and write it really well actually.

His family pic was also quite entertaining :)  And I love that he wants to be a "football player" when he grows up - he knows what daddy likes to hear :)

It's hard to see his favorite food - he drew a picture of peas and green beans - love it

 Jaxon's poster was so cute too - when I asked what he wanted to be when he grew up he answered, "my daddy and my grandpas" - so very sweet - he does have a great daddy and great grandpas though - I don't blame him for saying that!

Each week they focus on a letter of the alphabet and so when it was "Q" week, they had a kings and queens party for all the kids!  It was adorable and these 3 were thrilled to dress up!  

What a bunch of cuties!

One morning I had a Dr appnt and so my awesome dad came to watch all my kiddos and brought cute cousin Halle along with him.  It was so much fun - the kids had a blast!  Rio immediately changed her outfit once she saw Halle had polk-a-dot pants on :)  So cute!

SNOW DAYS!

 These snowy days are few and far between but we do our best to take advantage of them when they come.

 Logan insisted he go outside with the big kids and kept his gloves on for all of about 3 minutes

 Santa was unwise and forgot to bring our littlest guy a snow shovel so I handed him a snow shovel and well...he was in heaven!

 I said to Austin and Rio, "are you having fun?"  And their reply, "YES!!!"  Love their crazy excitement

Woo-hoo!  Can't wait to do it again next snowfall

Jax's surgery

I honestly never thought we would have to go through this kind of thing yet..if ever...but like everything else we get to experience in this life, it passes.

In January, the triplets had their 4 year old WCC and they did awesome!  All 3 of them are growing just great and appear super healthy and are super smart little cuties!

However, their doctor saw a potential hernia in Jax and thank goodness we went when we did because who knows how long it has been there since he has never complained about it and it isn't visual necessarily so...we were lucky that we had their appointment.  Anyway, I got home and called the surgeon and got an appointment for the next Monday.

We went and his doctor saw an inguinal hernia and a hydrocele as well.  So they set us up for surgery THE NEXT DAY!  Yikes!  Here I was just barely wrapping my head around the fact that he had a hernia (which I knew would require surgery because I had two when I was young) and anyway, we were scheduled the next day!!

So on Tuesday, January 28th, Jax went in for a hernia repair and they also had to drain the hydrocele and cut a piece of that out as well.  Jax was so super brave!  Both Spence and I were very impressed with how great he did with everything!  What a completely new experience and one that he really tried to understand.  We told him about the hernia and what would happen and did our best to prepare him for what may occur but we couldn't tell him everything since we didn't know for sure.

When we got to the hospital, we went into the pre-op room and a nurse talked with him about it a little bit more and had us use these wipe cloths to get him all "clean" and then change him into his surgery clothes which if you know Jax is quite the quest.  He is quite particular and wants to understand "why" in every situation so he thought it was really lame that he had to wear "their" pajamas :)  but of course he cooperated and got changed.

 He did not really appreciate the yellow socks however :)

Next, we moved to their waiting area where he got to play with lots of toys and Spence and I tried to remain calm and not anxious waiting there for 30 minutes!

Okay, let 's be honest, Spence was totally calm and I was a mess (inside only of course so Jax couldn't see).

 I love this picture so much!  He looks so young and sweet!  His hair isn't spiked and he has these little jammies on... so cute!

 We got to play a little more and then the Child Life specialist came to ask him about the surgery and explain the mask he'd have to breathe through for a minute until he "fell asleep" and they could fix his hernia.  The anesthesiologist came and talked with us and Jax too and of course said the obvious but scary things as a parent you don't want to hear like, "usually anesthesia doesn't cause any problems but at times can cause problems and/or death."   Really?  Can't you see that I'm a nervous wreck and am pregnant which makes my anxiety 100 times worse!!! Ha-ha

Anyway, Jax did great and didn't want the hospital buddy doll because he could do it by himself and he knew how to work the mask too :)

So...we sent him off to surgery with the anesthesiologist down the long hallway and watched our little guy go.

Whew...yes the tears came but I took a deep breath and we went and waited for them to be done with his surgery as it really only takes 20-30 minutes.

 Soon enough we were in another room talking to his doctor explain how the surgery went and then shortly after, the nurse came to get me and I got to go back with Jax while he tried to wake up.  I could hear him coming down the hallway and he was not happy :(

It took him a good 10 minutes or so to "come to" but he still wasn't super happy with his IV in his foot and didn't like his socks on over the top either!  He did not like that his tummy hurt but mostly I think he was just coming out of the anesthesia and didn't like not being in control of how he felt (sounds like his mom and dad).

We got to leave that room after about 10 minutes and then he got to have a slushy and Popsicle to see if he could keep it down and wasn't super nauseous.  He was doing great!

I feel horrible that Spence wasn't in any of these pictures because honestly, he was amazing and the calm in the midst of the potential storm.  I so appreciate him and know that Jax did too.

 Next, his nurse was finally able to talk out his IV and he was so grateful (although he was crying too because he didn't like it)

On our way home, he threw up that cherry Popsicle in a bag, on his shoes and on my sweater but we made it home okay and he was even falling asleep so...

 when we got home, Super Dad took him upstairs and laid him down with a throw up bowl and water just in case right next to him.  Yes, Jax is under that black blanket somewhere :)  He napped for a few hours and then came downstairs like nothing had happened!

 He was hungry of course and so daddy made him a yummy snack and he sad there just fine eating away and hanging out with Lennox.  He was amazing!  Kids never cease to amaze me with their ability to overcome and to be so incredibly resilient!

We're so proud of you Jaxon - you did so great sweetie and recovered so well.  We love you and are so grateful to your doctors and nurses that helped you.

Well, we survived one surgery...let's hope there isn't another one in our near future.
