Crazy mommy & daddy! The things we do for REFLUX :)

The Prevacid hasn't quite kicked in yet - it is helping a bit but we're hoping it will start working a little better. Poor Rio & Jax - they are so miserable at times. So... Spence & I decided to raise up their crib even more than it already was to see if that may help until the medicine starts working. You can't really tell from the picture below but it is pretty slanted - good or not good is the question. It seems to help keep things down better and they are much less spitty but they still hurt when the acid comes up so we'll be putting it down over the weekend again. The things we do to try and help... they're gonna think their mom and dad have lost it!

The other pic is their Prevacid and the herbal one I think I mentioned before called "Colic Calm" - it is supposed to help with gas, reflux and colic symptoms. It seems to help too - I'm putting that on here in case anyone else needs an idea to help with their little ones.

All is still going well! I have to send out a HUGE thank you to our family and friends that are helping us feed the babies. All I have to do is make a quick phone call and you are here to help - thank you so much! We love you and are so grateful for you and your time.

Also, I have to thank all of you that post on our blog - please know that we appreciate your concern and friendship too! One day, I will get around to posting on your blogs too so that you know we read them and are grateful for you and your love of our babies - THANKS!

...and Bigger

Just a quick weight update for everyone to show off how big they are getting. They all went to the doctor yesterday and got their Synagis shot for RSV and they were all weighed and here are their new weights:
JAX: 5 lbs 14 oz
AUSTIN: 7 lbs 9 oz! - (yes, that is right)
RIO: 6 lbs. 6 oz

I can't believe they are that big already! They are six weeks old now but technically they are only 2 days old today "adjusted age." Their doc says they are doing just great and they should be... they are all eating awesome. Austin takes almost 4 oz now and Jax and Rio are eating 3 oz every four hours. They are doing so great! We thought we'd take a pic of their 24 hour intake for the day. We make 18 bottles/day of 2/3 milk and 1/3 formula now.

We're getting stronger!

This is just a quick post and then I'll post later this week after they see their doc again to see how much they weigh and any other info. I haven't posted any pics for awhile so I thought I would post a few close ups of all of them. Rio is so strong - she's showing her neck strength. The boys can lift their necks too but they wouldn't cooperate with me when I was taking pics. They are getting so big and really amaze me how strong they are getting.
All is well too! They are eating great and increase their amount so often. It's great that they are such good eaters and getting stronger. We're still hibernating indoors and will for a good while still. Poor Jax and Rio though have major reflux though and it is so sad - they just are so uncomfortable and you can tell it really hurts them - poor things! Their doc gave them some Prevacid though and we are waiting for that to work and for things to get better. We tried an alternative called Colic Calm that is supposed to help with gas, reflux and colic and they do a little better when they take it but it doesn't help completely and I hate it. I know reflux is something they eventually grow out of and I can't wait for that day!
