Halle's 4th bday & a major scare for me!

My niece Halle's birthday is in July and every year we head to the park and play and celebrate her.  This year was no different and we had a great time and yet a very scary moment as well....
I absolutely love this picture!
This is my nephew Zak and my Logan - I love Logan's happy face! This is how amazing my sister's Zak is. He is always so sweet and playful to my little ones and they love it!

Here we are!  Celebrating with cupcakes!  YUMMY!  Spence, Matt & Sky didn't make it into the pic but it is cute of all the kiddies and my parents.
And yes, I'm squeezing Jax and not letting go because about 10 minutes prior, he had completely passed out!
The kids were riding their scooters together and having a blast when it was time to come and sing to Halle and eat cupcakes so we called the kids over and they all came and took off their helmets and sat down.  Well Jax saw his cousin Ella on the other side of the park and either wanted to play with her or wanted to tell her to join us and so he took off on his scooter and this time, without his helmet which of course never happens; especially with Jax - he is kind of like the helmet police.  We didn't realize he left until it was too late and he was coming around the bend of the park and then my world stopped for a moment when I saw Jax fly off his scooter and watched the back of his head smack the concrete.  Luckily, Spence was already going toward him and so he ran to pick him up.  At that point, Jax was crying but then in the slowest of slow motion as I was running over there, I watched his little body go completely limp in Spencer's arms.  Spence said, "we may have a problem;" words you don't want to hear right?  It honestly seemed like eternity (and was probably only 10 sec) until I got over there and by then, Jax had "come to" and started crying again.  Spence said that his eyes had rolled into the back of his head as well.  It was so scary.  When Jax came to, he knew his name and who we were and was just scared but I know I was more scared than he was - I could not believe that just a month prior, Austin had gotten a concussion in Bear Lake and now Jax had passed out.  Those moments are so reflective and nothing else matters but that child.  I had to stop and ask, "what did I do with Logan?"  Apparently, I had handed him to my mom but I honestly couldn't remember because I was so concerned for Jax - it really made me so grateful that we are healthy and safe.  I also was and am so grateful to Spencer for his calm demeanor in the act of trauma or emergency.  I'm a complete nut-case!  I better practice because I know times ahead may be bring chaos into our world and I can't be like that in front of my kids.  Totally mess!  That is me!
Anyway, he is and was after 5 minutes, totally fine :)
Austin, Jax and Rio twisting up Ella on the swing and having a blast!
 Here she goes!!!

All in all, what a great birthday celebration!  So much fun spending time with my fam :)

  1. I am just glad he is ok, I am glad you have logged it. Make sure you keep an eye on him, that's so odd that it happened, heat can play a roll, stress- who knows. I am just glad he is ok, I love your kids so much and I am going to miss them in Primary SO much. They are such great little kids, you and Spencer have taught them well
