Getting ready for Logan to come home

Spence had the kids help him set up Logan's bassinet, bouncer and swing yesterday and they were so excited to add their own special piece to "his" stuff - so sweet just had to share it.

Austin added his blanket into the bassinet to make sure Logan would be warm enough

Sweet Rio added Mickey and her kankie as well to the swing
And even Jax donated his prized kankie and baby to the bouncer to make sure Logan had company.

Love you 3 so much!  Thanks so much for thinking of Logan and what he would like.

The trips meet Logan 8/29/12

Yesterday evening Spence brought the kiddos up to the hospital to meet Logan and they were so excited all day I guess.  Austin saw Spence's wristband the day prior and asked, "Daddy, why are you wearing that bracelet?"  Spence told him that it was so he could see baby Logan and so Austin quickly replied, "I need a bracelet!"  So being the great daddy that he is, Spence got Austin a little plastic bracelet and Austin wore it all day yesterday and had it on when he arrived here too!
I love this pic of Spence and Logan - what a handsome daddy with his cute little boy right?

This pic has got to be one of the cutest pics of him yet!  What  a sweet little face he has!
Here they are!  They all of course had to climb on top of the bed and be up close and personal with mommy and Logan and I couldn't have been happier!  That was honestly the sweetest moment I think I've ever experienced with them.  Seeing them love him so much and want to hold him was just so sweet and confirmed that we'll all be okay on this new journey we're embarking on.
So just sweet... they kept saying, "he's so tiny mommy" By the way, can you see Austin's white bracelet?  So cute!
Didn't matter where we moved Logan, they were all right there wherever he was!  Austin especially had to make sure he knew where he was at all times!
Best big sister ever!  She is the sweetest girl - she has on a borrowed princess dress of course - love it!
Caretaker Austin ready to do whatever Logan needs or wants
Just had to add in this pic of Austin - not sure he could be any happier than he was :)
Jax with Logan - all he wanted to do was to touch his nose and face - he was so interested in every little part of Logan (sounds like Jax right?)
First family photo of all of us!  Looks about par for our family :)  Ha-ha!  But o-well - it's the best we got and I love it!!!

He's here!!! 8/28/09

I put a quick post on FB but since most people like a few more details and this is my journal(ish), I wanted to add a little more about the birth of our 4th little baby, Logan Anderson Morris.
It all started on Saturday after the awesome Herriman/Riverton game at the "U".  Spence is coaching again so we all went to watch too - perhaps not the best idea to climb all the stairs in the stadium but o-well...we had a great time.  My sweet parents came and watched and helped too - the trips could not wait to wear their "mustang" shirts!  They were so excited to wear them that Austin didn't put his down since Friday afternoon, including while he slept that night.  He's so cute!  They boys love watching daddy!  Needless to say, it was a little hot outside and I didn't drink as much water as I should have and well, I started contracting Saturday night on and off.  Here's a pic of us after the game and heading home.

I would have 3 or so contractions maybe 5-10 minutes apart and then they would stop for about 3 hours and then back again. But it wasn't as short lived as I had hoped. We had planned on my c-section being on Sept 1st (my due date was Aug 30th) but we figured for school and sports reasons that if I could hold out until the 1st, that would be better. Anyway, I tried my very best but Logan had a different birthday in mind. At 1:41am on the 28th of August, I started to have contractions that were 6 minutes apart and didn't quit! I kept hoping that they would so I put off telling Spence for an hour or so and tried to ignore them (ha-ha). I went in and told Spence (I've been sleeping on the couch for the last 6 weeks or so cause my ribs hurt so bad when I laid down) anyway...I told Spence and asked for him to give me a blessing to calm my body and mind down. And it did! I took a bath around 330am after calling the hospital and asking them what to do since I didn't do the "labor" thing last time. They told me that even if I was contracting but not dilating, I would have to wait for a bit to do the c-section so I waited it out a little longer and a little longer and then could not take it so I got Spence and we headed off to the hospital - but not before I got a quick pic :)
39 weeks 5 days

We arrived at the hospital about 545am and got paperwork going and all my pre-natal info up and going and got a hold of my awesome doc.
Before we headed into the OR for the c-section, Spence had to get into his spacesuit - poor guy was probably just as tired as I was.  Thanks for your support sweetie
I look amazing don't you think?  UGH!! No thanks but these are the shots that make it real - I'm smiling because I'm in between contractions
So as to not scare anyone with the OR pics, here is the first pic of Logan after he got a little cleaned up - he's got quite a set of lungs on him just like Rio did!

LOGAN ANDERSON MORRIS
7 lbs 15 oz 19 1/2 in - born at 8am
Little cuddly dude - so sweet!
Daddy with Logan in the recovery room - such a proud papa
I think the nurses thought Spence was a little abnormal because he wanted to give him a bath himself and not just watch...do most dad just watch???  Anyway, he loved giving him a bath and I love this pic - he's the best daddy ever!
Feeling all refreshed after his bath - cannot believe he was almost 8 lbs - that is Jax (3 lbs 10oz) and Austin (4 lbs 2 oz) and even a few oz of Rio put together!  Crazy to think how small they were and then to look at Logan and think how tiny he is too!  We are so lucky and blessed!
Mama and Logan with smiling Uncle Marc in the background - I know still don't look awesome but honestly, at least when this pic was taken I was coherent :) and not totally drugged like earlier that day - ha-ha
Aunt Kristin was holding Logan for this pic and I loved it!  What a cute little face he has - love his little, dark eyes.
Anyone think he looks like any of our other kids?  We're still making guesses...

We love you so much already Logan!  You're going to be so loved by your brothers and sister - what a lucky little boy you are.  Can't wait to know you better!  It's been a great experience to have one little guy to hold onto in my room and not have to travel to the NICU to see him.  When they handed him to me, I wasn't quite sure what to do but I've loved having him to hang out with one on one these last few days.  Cannot say how grateful we are and how blessed we feel to have him in our family.

Tribute to our sweet Rio

These last few months have been so much fun with our little Rio and I've taken so many adorable pics of her that I had to share them so both she and I could remember them forever! Since about April when the weather officially changed, she has insisted on only wearing a skirt or a dress every, single day!  She refuses to wear shorts unless I tell her where we're going, she has to - but I honestly love it!  She is so cute and has such a little style to her that I would never try and change it!  She is such a little "princess diva" and she loves anything that is girly so she has a blast picking out things to wear and play with.
Here are just a few:

Playing dress up at Aunt Kristin's house - butterfly wings and all

This was taken many months ago at my friend Roxy's house - Rio managed to find EVERY possible bracelet and necklace in her house :)

One day, Uncle Marc was over and Rio had gotten wet going down a wet slide at the park and this is the ensamble that she chose to put together - candy cane stripped tights and her hedgehog shirt - what a riot she is!
One of Rio's all time favorite things to do is raid mommy's closet (probably like most little girls) - she found my tallest shoes and a scarf to go with her little dress that day - she honestly  wore those shoes for hours!  I can't even do that!
This one has got to be a favorite of mine - my own little "Rio In Boots"  - she came out of my room and said, "mommy, I look like Puss In Boots!"  She had never been more proud of herself
Sometimes if she can't find a skirt in her own closet to wear, she goes into my skirts - yes, that is my skirt around her body & my necklace as well - I had to clip it in the back so it would stay on her while she played - silly girl!
Another great Rio In Boots look - Austin joined in the pic this time wondering why only Rio is in the picture - yes Austin, you're adorable too sweet boy.
Another all time fav of mine - she has on if you can't tell, a dress & a skirt an her adorable bunny ears, sand pail, necklace topped off with her "Punzel" shoes
Need I say anything?  Goggles, necklaces, purses and bracelets were all she was thinking about that day!
Here I come Hawaii!  She was loving the lei she found as well as her new sun hat and "anklet" - what a sweetheart you are Rio

Because Rio loves princesses soo much, I had to take her to the Festival this summer!  She was so excited!  I made the mistake of mentioning it a little too soon and she talked about going to the Princess Festival with only mommy for weeks and would tell the boys that they had to stay home.
We had so much fun and here are a few pics of my little princess with the bigger girl princesses :)

Rapunzel read Rio a story and she was literally on cloud 9 all day because of it!
One of the fun things, they offer at the festival is for the girls to get their hair done and so we did!  She loved it and sat there so good while these sweet girls did her hair complete with fairy dust!

There were so many great princesses to see but Rio was picky with those she'd get a picture with - here she is with Cinderella - poor thing - doesn't she look SO HOT!  It was a warm, warm day and walking around didn't help but of course, she didn't seem to mind!
Meeting Belle had to be the highlight of the day - she wasn't sure what to say to her so she just politely said, "I want my picture with you."  Sweet Belle didn't hesitate and Rio loved it
She also got to run into Ariel "by the water mommy"  She thought it was so fun that Ariel was sitting by the water with her "legs" - she may not look super happy in this pic but she was :)
We went with our sweet friends, Roxy, Avery & Reese and had to make a stop in the shade and eat an otter pop!  Lifesaver for these 3 little girls on such a hot day
Mommy, Rio and Prince Charming - she had to have me in the picture or the prince would have been out - ha-ha!
Aurora, Belle & Cinderella with their otter pops
My own little Rapunzel with her beautiful hair - she thought this pic was so funny and could not figure out why I asked her to stick her head through a hole. That is until she saw the picture and then she laughed and thought it was so silly
My own little Aurora posing for a pic on her own - she was so stinkin' hot!!!! (and so was her pregnant mommy)
At the end of the festival, we let the girls take off their dresses and go play in the water for awhile to cool off!  Rio and Reese kept sharing a ladybug that they had rescued from the water - so sweet!  She insisted I take a pic of the ladybug since I had taken so many already of everything else - why not?

I love you Rio!  You're my sweet, little friend and shadow at times..  I'm so lucky to be your mom and to be able to do so many fun things with you - we'll hopefully have so many more fun and special thing to do together.  You're so special to both my and daddy - we love your kind and "spirited" personality.  You make us be on our toes all the time and your sweet and tender soul is one to be envious of - you already understand so much about the power of prayer and the important role it plays in our life and how we feel.  You're so smart and talented - your mind is like a little sponge and you have a great love of music and singing.  I will always do my best to help you in anything you want to do - I love you so much!

When we can't make it to the "BIG" pool...

Our summer days have been filled with plenty of water - we love it so much! Most of these pics are from a month of so ago but so cute and had to post!  It has been so hot outside and I am my own furnace with this pregnancy.  We have had such a great time at pools and splash pads but when we can't or don't make it out... we use our own backyard!  So fun!
Love these 3 so much!
Austin took it upon himself to start the water fight and Rio was outta there!!  That is until....
she figured out how to get rid of those boys and take over the pool :)  That's my girl!
Is that fresh water Jax?  I hope so... He's a riot to watch in the water - loves it so much and dives in and out so fast!
These last 2 pics were taken one day when the power went out and our house got SO HOT so fast!  We had to make our way to our water ASAP!  Little, cute fish :)
They kept saying, "whirlpool mommy, whirlpool.."  They realized if they all went in the same direction it made waves and a little, tiny whirlpool - so fun!
What a fun summer we're having...
