We're 3 months old already - (technically)

I say technically because their "adjusted age" is only 7 weeks old but "real age" they are 13 weeks. Anyway, I've been going through the pics to look back at how the babies have grown already and I seriously cannot believe how big they have gotten. It is crazy to me to think back a few months ago about how I thought I'd never get out of the hospital and how sad I was about not being at home or working. I can't believe it has already been 3 months and I feel like I haven't done much except make bottles, pump, change diapers, laundry, try to exercise and keep my house reasonably clean. Don't get me wrong - those aren't bad things and I'm happy to do all of them. It's just crazy though to think how fast time goes by. When I was working, the days seemed so long sometimes and now I wish the days were longer.

Anyway, the babies are doing great as usual. Austin is in size 1 diapers now and into 0-3 month clothes already. The other two are following shortly behind too - already! I hope I'm not missing anything. Let me know if there is anything you wish you would have done when you're kids were little like this.
We've ventured out a little bit more on the warmer days and have taken them for walks outside too. I can't wait for it to be totally warm soon so we can do that everyday - I love being outside and I hope they will too! Going out is seriously a "side show" act and I just need to get used to it. We did have someone asks us how many babies we had as they were staring at our 3 car seats on the ground :) Seriously? So funny! I was hoping we could just "blend into the crowd" - not so much! O-well! That's our life and we love it!
Here are some comparison shots from their first week to their 13th! So BIG!

RIO: one day old

Rio at 13 weeks:

This is a pic we took just a few days after they were all home so they were about 3 weeks old or so and I did the same "set up" last night. Just a little different :) Sorry about the paci's - Rio and Jax wouldn't have it without them :)

Birth Announcement

Since I can't mail this out to everyone I know... I thought I would put their announcement on our blog. It has some of the pics I posted already but I thought I would post it here anyway. It is so cute! I used http://www.etsy.com/ to find someone to make it for me. So simple and easy! What a great site! Anyway, hope you enjoy it :)

Did we have quads or triplets?

Okay, roll your eyes if you aren't a dog person right now. But I think these are darling!
Is someone missing in this picture? What happened to Austin?

Sometimes it feels like we have quads at our house or at least another child to take care of and give attention to especially during feeding times. Unless you're a "dog person," you'll just think we are nuts and ridiculous but if you loves dogs like we do, you'll understand. Poor Lennox sometimes... he feels a little left out so he maneuvers his way into the "baby spot" one way or another.
Or... he just joins them. I couldn't resist this picture. Lennox and Jax look so cozy together. I'm sure there will be many more like this to come over the years. Jax stayed nice and warm and Lennox was able to get cozy since there wasn't another human's lap to sit on. So cute!

No longer preemies and weight updates

I have to admit, these aren't going to be the best pics to show how much they've grown but they may give you an idea. So our sweet Austin has been out of preemie clothes for about a month now and is quickly working his way out of most newborn clothes now too! It is so crazy to me to watch them all grow so fast; but especially Austin. He is just an awesome grower! We recently saw our Dr. who we all love and got our new weights and Austin is up to 10 lbs. 10 oz! Can you believe it? In one month, he gained 3 pounds! Keep going buddy! We love you so much!

Jaxon finally made it out of his preemie clothes this last week! It was so funny - all of a sudden one day he just couldn't fit into his clothes anymore. We were so excited for him. And... we were even more shocked at the doctor when the scale read 8 lbs. 5 oz! He gained 2.5 pounds in a month and is catching up so quickly. He has always had such cute cheeks but now they are getting even bigger and cuter! Keep growing sweetie - you'll catch up to Austin soon :)

Here's the comparison of the boy's preemie clothes to a newborn one. It is so sad to think how fast time is going by and soon they'll all be out of their newborn clothes too! I keep taking pictures hoping to capture every change.

And our adorable Rio... she is so incredibly sweet! She has the sweetest look. They are all tracking really well and she will just stare at your face hoping you'll talk to her. They are do that but Rio just seems to do that more often and is much more curious about talking. They are all starting to make noises to have you look at them if they don't have your attention - so funny! We think we maybe had Rio and Jaxon smile back at us once but that still may be a little early for that but they are doing so sweet "sleep smiles" and we can't wait for them to smile back all the time.
Anyway, Rio weighed 8 lbs 8 oz. She gained a little over 2 pounds this last month. Jax almost has her beat now! It will be interesting to see what they end up at and if our little Rio is actually the smallest of them.
We are having so much fun with them. They are just now starting to be more and more alert and staying awake for longer periods during the day. It's hard for me to go by this "adjusted age" thing and not expect that they should be doing 2 1/2 month old things because in reality they are just about 4 weeks "adjusted age". By age 2, we won't have to do that anymore and I'm glad for that. Anyway, they are all healthy and darling and so fun!
We love you guys so much and we're so grateful to be your mommy and daddy! Love you!

So Cute Pictures!

So one day, a few weeks back, I was looking at these cute little babies and thinking to myself how big they have gotten already! I can't believe it and wanted to make sure I captured their tiny selves before they got so big. So, I had my cousin's wife Angie come and take a few pics of the kids and I'm SO glad I did! I can't believe how different they already look now compared to these pics, especially Jax. Anyway, they turned out absolutely darling! I love them. I will just put a few on here that I absolutely love. She did such a great job. Thanks again Angie!
Her name is Angie Gates and her website is http://www.smitten-photography.com/ She's able to do all kinds of pics for all ages - you'll have to check her website out!

Crazy mommy & daddy! The things we do for REFLUX :)

The Prevacid hasn't quite kicked in yet - it is helping a bit but we're hoping it will start working a little better. Poor Rio & Jax - they are so miserable at times. So... Spence & I decided to raise up their crib even more than it already was to see if that may help until the medicine starts working. You can't really tell from the picture below but it is pretty slanted - good or not good is the question. It seems to help keep things down better and they are much less spitty but they still hurt when the acid comes up so we'll be putting it down over the weekend again. The things we do to try and help... they're gonna think their mom and dad have lost it!

The other pic is their Prevacid and the herbal one I think I mentioned before called "Colic Calm" - it is supposed to help with gas, reflux and colic symptoms. It seems to help too - I'm putting that on here in case anyone else needs an idea to help with their little ones.

All is still going well! I have to send out a HUGE thank you to our family and friends that are helping us feed the babies. All I have to do is make a quick phone call and you are here to help - thank you so much! We love you and are so grateful for you and your time.

Also, I have to thank all of you that post on our blog - please know that we appreciate your concern and friendship too! One day, I will get around to posting on your blogs too so that you know we read them and are grateful for you and your love of our babies - THANKS!

...and Bigger

Just a quick weight update for everyone to show off how big they are getting. They all went to the doctor yesterday and got their Synagis shot for RSV and they were all weighed and here are their new weights:
JAX: 5 lbs 14 oz
AUSTIN: 7 lbs 9 oz! - (yes, that is right)
RIO: 6 lbs. 6 oz

I can't believe they are that big already! They are six weeks old now but technically they are only 2 days old today "adjusted age." Their doc says they are doing just great and they should be... they are all eating awesome. Austin takes almost 4 oz now and Jax and Rio are eating 3 oz every four hours. They are doing so great! We thought we'd take a pic of their 24 hour intake for the day. We make 18 bottles/day of 2/3 milk and 1/3 formula now.
