Feeling the Bulge Effects - Week 21

On a daily basis I have people asking me how I'm feeling and if I'm doing okay which is so sweet. I can usually respond with, "pretty good - I'm feeling a lot better lately." However, if I may say two small issues lately - my ribs are being ripped in half and there is no comfortable way to sit or stand to get around that. Two: I cannot sleep - I've never had insomnia in my life but I do now! I don't think it is just because I can't get comfortable - I can't turn my mind off. Sound silly I know since I teach people how to do just that on a daily basis. I'm wide awake though if I wake up in the middle of the night, it is the strangest thing. O-well. These are the costs I'm ever too willing to take to keep these babies inside a very long time!

I did have an interesting experience on Thursday that Spence thought was hilarious so I thought I'd share. Get your buckets ready just in case. Just teasing - it's not that bad. I often eat breakfast in the car on my way to work and that morning apparently was not a good meal choice: I started to get nauseous and sick and had no where to throw up! I found a cup that was in my car from the day before and tried my best to "aim" but didn't have the best of luck - I threw up all over the front of me. Fortunately, I had a sweater on so I survived the rest of the day without smelling horrible or looking like a mess. Ha-ha - how embarrassing! I spent time cleaning off my car and the floor mat before venturing into work that day acting like nothing had happened. NO EGGS I guess - babies don't like them. That is the 2nd time eggs have done that to me! No more - I'll have to get the protein somewhere else :)
All is good however with us - we're just working and trying to spend time together. I really wish I could be warm somewhere however. This is the time of year that I just want to be on a cruise ship in the sun. Boo-hoo :( I know...I've been too spoiled going so many places. We've been so lucky to have been able to do so many fun things. I'll just live through others for awhile.
The babies seem like they are doing fine though. I don't feel them a ton yet which always makes me worry but with their outward placentas I may not until they get much, much heavier. Until then, I just convince myself that they are okay and growing.

We had two fun bdays this week - Mike and Luke. Happy Birthday again! We love you two! Luke is now 2 and the cutest thing - he smiled on cue at every picture at his party. So adorable! We had a nice, relaxing weekend where we actually got time to spend together. It was a miracle! I loved it and am so grateful for Spence and his hard work in every area of his life. You're the best!

Well, here you go...
WEEK 21: (somehow the covered pic seems smaller doesn't it?)

  1. I love it, I love your belly and I was glad to see you on Thursday! I have been in your position with the car situation, ask Shawn, as well as in any area; I would often sit at my desk at work and there was no time to meet the porcelain king, the garbage can was often my friend, I would get the the porcelain bowl (sink) cleaning up my mess and end up in the porcelain king, I often felt that was my room. I understand you completely, I am sorry for the pain your going through with your ribs etc. Hang in there. Love ya...

  2. So sorry to hear about your yucky egg experience. Grape juice did that to me, which is sad because I love it, but I have now lost some of my taste for it. :(

I am glad you are doing well & that you and Spence could spend some time together. We missed you in St. George.

Good luck with the sleeping and the rib pain. I wish I had some sort of trick to help you.

    Love you!

  4. I was having flashbacks when I read this post. When I was pregnant with AIdan I threw up everytime I ate ANYTHING with eggs in it. French toast, or anything. Plus I was living in Springville and commuting to salt lake. I kept a whole bunch of grocery bags and wet wipes in the car becasue I threw up on the side of the freewas probably 3 out of 5 mornings. It was the worst! Hang in there...you are right it is sooo worth it!
