First few usounds

Sorry that this entry will be a little lengthy to explain all the usounds (posted above this one) but I figured I'd get it all out in one entry since we are a little behind in sharing this part of the info. I'll try and summarize. So, when Spence and I went to the first ultrasound with our new friend Lindsey, who has done these for me the entire IVF cycle time (she is great) but anyway, we went at the beginning of June for our first one and Lindsey simply asked us, "how many embryos did you guys put in?" We were all silent in the room for a few seconds until Spence and I caught each others eyes and said, "3."

Lindsey showed us the usound and we were literally in shock as she moved it across my stomach and sure enough... 1, 2 and then 3 sacs were obviously displayed on the screen. She was so cute and supportive as Spence and I just sat there without words. I wasn't sure if I should be laughing like I was at the odds of this or crying for joy or panic!

Nonetheless, we left with an appointment to come back again in 2 weeks. Spence was shaking his head back and forth and I kept looking at him wondering what was going through his head. He didn't say much other than, "I'm just grateful." I was so glad he said that. Although I am sure that he had other panic stricken thoughts as well that he chose to keep those to himself.

Immediately, I had to go right back to work and so I didn't have too much time to process this new info. But later that day after I had a minute, I just couldn't stop smiling! I could not believe the odds of this! How crazy it was to think that after years of greater odds (technically speaking), that now we were hitting a 2% chance! Wow! I am so grateful for this incredible news and we truly feel so fortunate.

2 weeks later, we had our next usound and everything continued to look great - they actually were little balls now, not just grains of rice :)

On July 14th, I went to my OB, Christian Froerer who is great. His nurse if Kristy, my sister's sister in law who I love and think of as my own family. They did this 3rd usound (on week 9 day 5) for us and you can see that center baby (who always measure a little bit bigger for some reason) just bouncing around like a little gummy bear with it's little, tiny arm and leg buds. So cute! The one of the right and left are within one day of measuring from each other but the far right one always looks so tiny. I'll be relieved to have our next usound to see this one a little better, it always looks munched to the side - poor thing.

Here are the measurements from the last usound on the 14th -(from left to right)

Baby A - Heartbeat: 174 and measured 9 weeks 2 days
Baby B - Heartbeat: 168 and measured 9 weeks 5 days
Baby C - Heartbeat: 172 and measured 9 weeks 1 day

So... so far so good it seems. My next usound and 1st appointment with my perinatologist (apparently with trips you are automatically considered "high risk" and therefore require a perinatologist) is scheduled for August 17th. They will do a 3-D usound this time I was told which will be so awesome to see them.
Thanks again for all your love and support. We're totally nervous but totally thrilled too! :)
