Movie night & one amazing family

Sometimes when Spence is gone for the night on a weekend, the kids and I have "Movie Night" - we have it when Spence is around as well but this time, it was just me and kids.  They were so excited and so cute!  We always have to pop popcorn and have "spicy juice" (soda) of some kind.
First they started out all sprawled out and then...
they cozied up to one another quickly.  Don't mind the diaper baby there, we hadn't gotten to his pj's yet :)  I had to take a picture first right?
And yes, my 1 year old is eating popcorn - he loves it!  He is one of the big kids you know
FINALLY!! I finally got to see one of my very favorite families and one that I honestly treasure and always will.
These are the little cuties that I nannied for years ago.  I cannot believe how big they are and what amazing kids they are.  Well, I can believe it - they have THE MOST incredible parents.  I honestly strive to be like Michael and Melanie every day.  They taught me so much and I adore this family.
I nannied for them from the time Benjamin, the oldest, now 14 (soon to be 15 this month) was 10 months old until a week before I went into the hospital with the triplets in 2009.  How lucky I am right?  Just looking at these pictures make me teary-eyed - I just love these kids so much!

I will adore and love you 3 forever!
Spence taking pics of us talking :)
I love you guys!  Thank you for letting me come into your lives for so long - I'm a better person because I know you 5 wonderful people

Cascade Springs Hike

We got one more "summer" hike in before the fall weather came.
This is honestly such a beautiful area!  The drive down to the Springs seemed like it took forever and I honestly thought I was driving in the middle of nowhere but we finally made it and it was gorgeous!
We went with some of our besties Roxy and her cuties: Avery, Lucas and Reese
The kids couldn't wait to get started
Our first sight was this little water critter - a snake!
What a cute bridge right?  I love rivers, they are just so pretty and clear
Here are a few more amazing "fall" pictures
Another little friend along our path - the kids loved finding the snakes - they thought they were so cool!
 Beautiful river, beautiful kids!
Avery, Reese, Rio, Jax, Austin and Lucas
 I see you!
The kids were so funny!  We had to get a "girl" picture and a "boy" picture :)  I love this age of kids - they are so funny!
*Rio, Avery & Reese*
 And the boys :)
*Austin, Lucas and Jax*
One last shady stop along the winding pathways - it really is a gorgeous spot! We will definitely be back next summer again.
Oh, how I hope these cuties will stay friends forever!  Love them together!  They are all so adventurous and happy to be together.

Donut Falls Hike with the Morris Clan

Since we tried to do so much hiking this summer, we decided it would be fun to do a hike with daddy and fortunately, Grandma Morris had a better idea - why not go with the whole family?
So we did...and we loved it!  Quick and easy and perfect for the kids!
The cute kiddies getting ready to start their hike up to Donut Falls
*Brinlee, Hayden, Austin, Jax, Tyler, Rio, Ethan and Kisty*
Oh how I love these sweet moments captured on camera - it is so cute!  The kiddies couldn't wait to hike and Papa Ranger was one of the first to take off - they all love him so much!
*Hayden, Austin, Papa, Jax, Rio (with her cute ponies in the air because she was jumping) and Brinlee*
Daddy and the kids being photo bombed by Uncle Jon and Cole
LOVE IT!
Rio, Tyler and Austin stopped for a quick rock throwing moment with Uncle Marc
Spence, me and cutie Logan - isn't it gorgeous there?
Marc, Kristin, Erin and Spence with most of the kiddies
Grandma Morris helping the kids across the rocks along the water
 Jon, Cole and Erin
Kristin, Hayden, Ty and Brinlee (Uncle Mike broke his back awhile back so he didn't join us)
Kristin, Marc and Spence helping the kiddies across the mini-water falls
 Spence with the girls
Marc with my boys - oh how they adore him!
Going back across and Grandma was the first to go help

Stopped for a quick photo on our way down the falls
Our little family of 6 - we had so much fun together!
 Kisty, Andrew and Ethan
I think Andrew was asking Ethan if he wanted to cross on his own or with some help :)
I love this pic so much!  It is almost perfect - minus my sweet girl Rio looking down and my "long nails mommy)
Love our fam!  We had a blast!  I love the outdoors in the summer - it just feels so warm and it is absolutely beautiful!

Happy 1st Birthday sweet Logan! (Aug 28th)

I cannot believe my little Logan turned 1 on August 28th.  He honestly has been such a joy this year and an incredibly addition to our family - we couldn't have been more lucky!

HaPpY 1st BiRtHdAy!
We had a great party with our families and of course it started out with the kids playing with balloons - their absolute favorite thing!  I have to apologize for so many pics but I just loved them all and couldn't choose :)
 Aww...cute little boy!
Had to include the balloon - Logan popped about 10 of them because he kept squeezing them and biting them but had so much fun!
Let's start the party!  Open your gifts cute boy
My favorite kind of gift :)  BOOKS!  Logan got the cutest books - he loves them and I love reading with him
Part of the evening was devoted to all the kids playing together running around our yard - and of course cute Zak allowed them to chase him and chase him and chase him...
Another adorable book that Logan got
And of course, Rio was glued to grandma Marsha for the evening :)
Poor Lennox does not like balloons :(  so sweet uncle Jon let him sit with him

All these cousins had such a great time together - it was so fun to have both sides of the family together
Aunt Kisty and Logan - she is always so sweet to play with the kids
 Bring on the cake!
As soon as Logan saw that, he reached for it and never stopped!
 Hmm...what is that?
Oh...I see.  Okay, I will get the hang of this
This kid was a pro!  It's like he knew exactly what to do!
Love you Logan!  Way to go bud!
Logan started flicking the cake onto Spence and I - it was pretty cute!  Jax thought it was pretty funny too :)
Here we are!  Can't believe we have 4 adorable cuties - we are lucky parents and love them all so much!
Here's the up close pic of the cake although we'd already cut out Logan's piece
It just kept getting better the more we let him keep eating so we just let him and get taking pics

Even in the hair Logan?  Really?
Look at him!  Isn't that the cutest picture ever?  I love it so much!
He was so happy and so adorable to watch
Almost every inch of his hands were covered in yummy cake
What'd I do?  How come everyone is staring at me?
Well after all that fluffy goodness it was time for a bath!  There was no other way to get him clean!  And of course he didn't mind - he loves water just like everything else in this world - he is the happiest little guy
Cozy and clean with Grandma Marsha and Papa Dougie

So here I go with my re-cap of the year :)
Happy Birthday Logan!
How has it already been a year our sweet boy?  We were so lucky to have you in our family!  The morning I started having contractions with you, I thought oh man...things are about to change sweetheart!  We were so blessed to have your siblings come to us and now we get to have you too!
I couldn't imagine what you'd be like and if you would look like them or me or daddy.  We were so thrilled when you arrived safely and healthy!  A big 7 lb 15 oz boy - we weren't sure what to do with such a big baby! (Even though you looked so tiny still)

I thought you were such a handsome boy and loved spending time with just you while I stayed in the hospital for a few days after the c-section.  I felt very blessed being able to get to know you and your temperament and you have remained true to that same soft, sweet, happy and kind little soul that you are.
We saw Dr. C when you turned one and we couldn't believe how big you are!
WEIGHT: 23.7 lbs
HEIGHT: 31.75 (98%tile!)
You are such a healthy little guy - early on you had 5 ear infections in a row and we were a little worried but just like your brothers and sister, they went away after that and you've only had a few colds since.  You are an amazing little eater :)  You've always loved your bottle and mommy is going to have a hard time taking that away from you - I'm not looking forward to that and I know you aren't either but we can do it!
You love to play with balls!  They are your absolute favorite toy!  You even walk around kicking the ball - you have incredible balance and honestly think you are as big as Jax, Austin and Rio.  You watch everything they do and do your best to copy them.  You love your Noah's Ark book and look at it forever trying to push the music buttons and you LOVE to dance to "Cotton-eyed Joe."  Your daddy is one of your very favorite people if not your favorite!  You squeal when you see him and it is so cute!  You have a great daddy and he loves you so much and loves spending time with you.
You are SUPER busy!  In and out of every cupboard and drawer, the fridge, the pantry and even bathrooms and you cry so hard when doors are shut on you and you can't explore those places.  You love to get into Lennox's food and water and rush over to his bowls when you hear us say, "no no Logan!"  You think you're pretty funny :)
Your siblings love you Logan - I know they will always watch out for you and take care of you.  They can get frustrated with you getting into their things and sometimes want their "big kid" time but they do love you.  When you see Rio you make the cutest cooing sound and gently put your face on her somewhere.  It's very sweet!  When you were tiny, you'd put your forehead on people's heads when you saw them or you'd put your little hand on their cheeks as if to say hello - you are quite the social little guy.
MILESTONES so far:
sitting: 7 months
crawling: 10 months
walking around things: 10.5 months
walking on your own: 11.5 months
You're one amazing little boy sweetheart!  We love you so much and can't wait to see what you do in the future!  You are a ball of joy and I thank you so much for making me smile little Logan.
