Tracy Aviary

I always love visiting the Aviary because I think these amazing birds are so fun to watch and they are so rare so I love that the kids get to see them up close.

Meliss and I went this day with our kiddos and when we got there, we realized there were NO bird show times - what a disappointment because that is the best part because the kids get to participate in the show and well, because I have lots of kids, one of them is always bound to be a part of it!

However, when we strolled over to where the show is, these really sweet, nice workers decided that we could watch their training session they were doing.

How nice is that?

Jax got to feed this emu which is way cool I think - I was really proud of him for being so brave!

I love Macaws - they are so beautiful!  I am glad we don't have them in our yard however...they are so loud!

These two little love birds were snuggled up in their nest enjoying the shade.

Garden harvesting time

All spring/summer long we have been enjoying our peas, cucumbers, tomatoes and yellow squash but today was the day we thought we better pull up everything (or almost everything) else.

Look at those beautiful onions - perfect for salsa!

The boys thought it was really cool to pull the corn (which by the way did not do very well sadly) - we've got to think through how to grow that better here in Bluffdale.

Logan mostly wanted to help by clipping things - big helper that one!  Haha.

Even our fruit turned out delish!  Lots of seeds but yummy watermelon.

And well, the best helper of the day was Lennox.  Doesn't he look exhausted from working so hard?  He is SO CUTE!  We just adore him and he absolutely loves being outside with us and in the sun!

He's so fun with them and always takes the time each day to "play."
